Defining what a “gang” is has become nearly difficult in our contemporary society. Gangs have been around since the 12th century and are still very active in our society today. This seminar will be focused on the history and formation of gangs and gang violence tracing all the way back to the 1600’s until the present and the illegitimate activities that gangs are able to perform nationally and transnationally.
